They have heard about the whale’s sadness: they say it is greater than its own body. They felt they had nothing to say against it: yes, there is a lot that is disappointing. But they have started telling stories. Fables with their bodies, with half-words and open syllables. And so the whale became an animal of all-encompassing love and understanding. They are now preparing everything for its arrival. They are throwing a premature celebration, and already living as if the kingdom of the whale were here. Because they have told one another that the whale will only come when it is no longer needed.
